Carbon offset
Nomad Cruise goes carbon neutral
For each cruise, we will calculate the carbon emission that is released during our trip and offset it with the official offsetting platform of the UN Nations.
Offsetting our carbon emission
We feel it is essential, that each and every nomad who decides to join Nomad Cruise will be covered when it comes to carbon emission during our journey. This is why we made the decision to take care of this as a company.
For each cruise, we will calculate the carbon emission that is released during our trip and offset it with the official offsetting platform of the UN Nations.
How it works
“This platform features UNFCCC certified projects that reduce, avoid or remove greenhouse gas emissions from the atmosphere.
The projects are implemented in developing countries and are rewarded with Certified Emission Reductions (CERs), a type of carbon offset measured in tonnes of CO2 equivalent. The CERs are available for everyone to purchase to offset emissions or in support of the projects. The full contributions go directly to the projects.”
Raising money for even more causes
Unfortunately going carbon neutral is still not enough. There is so much more to be done, and we do have the power to make a difference. As a community, we have the possibility to raise money for various important causes.

It has become a tradition for years now, that on the last day of each cruise, we organize a charity dinner, where we raise money to support environmental and social causes.
Here are a few examples of what we’ve done so far:
Planted 84,000 trees Worldwide with Eden Project
Donated thousands of euros to an ocean-cleanup project run by local teenagers in Indonesia
We’ve contributed to restoration work in Puerto Rico after the hurricane
Fed a village for 4 days after a flood in the Dominican Republic
Got questions about the cruise?
Can I join if I’m on my own?
We highly encourage you to join if you’re on your own as you’ll feel more open to connect with others who are in the same boat (pun intended).
Will there be huge waves?
You don’t have to worry about those 20-meter waves you might have seen on social media. Cruise ships are equipped with incredible stabiliser systems and go through calm passages, constantly monitoring the weather. You’ll barely feel the ship move, except on our cruise to Antarctica where we’ll pass the famous Drake Passage that’s usually quite rough. But that’s part of the Antarctica experience.
So many days on a ship, does that not get boring?
You mean with all the workshops, talks, meet-ups, masterminds, acrobatics, meals together, chilling by the pool, meditating in the sunrise, listening to impromptu jam sessions, starting new businesses, exploring islands? Well…No! Time goes by too quickly on the cruise!
I get really seasick. Can I still join?
You’ll barely feel the ship sway. If you do tend to get seasick or this is your first time at sea, we recommend you to bring motion sickness medication, just in case.
